WHAT WE DO
The Second Chance Café is dedicated to serving the Montreal Community in as many ways as possible. With God's help, we are contributing to our community's moral, physical and spiritual growth. Here are just some of the many ways we are serving our community:
- The café feeds 25 to 30 kids daily FREE. They are taught moral values and are encouraged to respect their parents and the authorities. After school, kids get help with their homework
- Bread is given away daily FREE
- Used clothing is given away FREE
- English and French lessons are given FREE to immigrants from time to time as needed
- We are also a café where anyone can come in for a coffee...and everything is FREE
- The café helps immigrant and refugee families to find apartments, furniture, dishes, clothes... etc.
- The café has organized outings for the young and old in our community, such as visits to the Bio Dome, Imax theatre, tours of Old Montreal, concerts, basketball and soccer games, bowling, airplane rides, etc., etc...
- Monday evenings: topical Bible study at 7:30 pm
- Tuesday evenings: Bible study at 7:30 pm
- Wednesdays: large distributions of clothes and food. We close at 5 pm Wednesdays so we can attend our church's evening service
- Thursday evenings: Praise and Worship night (one Thursday evening in Italian and the other in English)
- Friday evenings: "Divine Math" marriage class for couples
- Saturdays: special events such as live music, artists displays, etc.
- Sundays we are closed. We are to keep it Holy.
We have been serving our community since February 2000 and want to continue, but we need your help. Won't you consider a financial donation to the Second Chance Café?
